ARA Accreditation
Medical accreditation evaluates the quality and safety of healthcare services provided by physicians and practices and demonstrates commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Accreditation also helps ensure patients receive high-quality care that meets or exceeds recognized standards and best practices.
ARA Diagnostic Imaging
The American College of Radiology (ACR) accredits ARA Diagnostic Imaging in all forms of advanced medical imaging. ACR Accreditation is universally recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging certification.
One of the most reliable ways to ensure that a physician has the knowledge, skills, understanding, and experience needed to provide quality patient care is board certification. Every ARA physician is a certified American Board of Radiology (ABR) radiologist.
The ABR is an independent, not-for-profit institution founded to protect the public by assessing and certifying physicians who meet specific professional, educational, and training requirements.
Medical technologist registration designates a license or certification from a recognized authority that verifies their qualifications and competencies. Registration ensures that medical technologists meet the required standards of quality and safety required and promotes continuous learning and improvement.
Every ARA technologist is fully registered by their respective imaging modality boards.
ARA Theranostics Center
The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has accredited the ARA Theranostics Center and designated it as a Center of Excellence in Radiopharmaceutical Therapy.
This designation affirms that the ARA Theranostics Center has the personnel, equipment, training, and experience to manage patients requiring radiopharmaceutical therapy. All Centers of Excellence are vetted by an SNMMI group of experts in radiopharmaceutical therapy to ensure the center meets the qualifications, experience, and performance criteria necessary for excellent patient care.
Theranostics Center Physicians
All of ARA’s molecular radiologists are double-boarded by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Radiology.
Theranostics Center Technologists
All radiologic technologists are licensed by the Texas Medical Board and registered by either the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Several of our staff have advanced credentials in CT.
All of ARA’s MRI and CT technologists are registered with ARRT. ARA’s ultrasound technologists are registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Theranostics Center Nurses, Paramedics & EMTs
All of ARA’s nurses, paramedics, and EMTs have Texas licensing and/or certification, pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification, and basic and advanced cardiac life support (BLS & ACLS) certification. They are fully trained in the use of conscious sedation and in the use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED).
Radiation Safety
ARA physicians and technologists undergo extensive training in radiation safety and limiting radiation exposure for patients.
ARA participates in the Image Wisely and the children’s Image Gently programs. These programs promote reducing the amount of radiation used in imaging and eliminating unnecessary procedures. ARA also participates in the ACR Dose Index Registry, allowing ARA to compare CT standards to national and local indexes.
ARA Outpatient Imaging Centers
ARA’s outpatient imaging clinics maintain the following accreditations:
Nuclear Medicine & PET/CT Facilities
Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Facilities

Computed Tomography (CT) Facilities

ARA is designated as an ACR CT Lung Screening Center of Excellence
ARA participates in the CT Colonography Registry and the Lung Cancer Screening Registry.
Ultrasound Facilities
