Simon Trubek, MD of ARA Theranostics.

SIMON TRUBEK, MD

Chief of Molecular Radiology at ARA

Asst. Prof. of Diagnostic Medicine, Dell Medical School, UT Austin

Dr. Simon Trubek is Chief of the Molecular Radiology section at ARA as well as the ARA Radiation Safety Officer and has been a part of the practice since 2005. He completed his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where he stayed for a one-year categorical general surgery residency, followed by a nuclear medicine fellowship and a radiology residency, during which he served as Chief Radiology Resident.

Dr. Trubek has been appointed twice by the Governor of Texas to the Texas Radiation Advisory Board, a body that reviews and evaluates state radiation policies, programs, and proposed rules. He has appeared as a knowledge expert on CBS/KEYE’s “We Are Austin” and on the “Armor Men’s Health Podcast.”

As Assistant Professor of Diagnostics Medicine at Dell Medical School, Dr. Trubek trains and educates new classes of physicians and mentors upcoming radiologists in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program.

Dr. Trubek is double-boarded by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and by the American Board of Radiology. Prior to his academic career he spent time as a mechanic and he still loves cars.

John (Jack) Leahy, MD of ARA Theranostics.

JOHN (JACK) LEAHY, MD

Asst. Professor of Diagnostic Medicine, Dell Medical School, UT Austin

Dr. Jack Leahy received his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine, in 1999, followed by a fellowship in nuclear medicine, also at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Leahy has been recognized as one of Austin Monthly magazine’s “Austin’s Top Doctors” from 2014 to 2023. He was instrumental in founding PET/CT services and the Theranostics Center at ARA and is dedicated to bringing theranostic diagnostic exams and healing treatments to patients in Central Texas and beyond. As Assistant Professor of Diagnostics Medicine at Dell Medical School, Dr. Leahy trains and educates new classes of physicians and mentors upcoming radiologists in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program.

Dr. Leahy is double-boarded in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He enjoys living in Austin and traveling.

Jim Leake, MD of ARA Theranostics.

JIM LEAKE, MD

Molecular Radiologist at ARA

Asst. Professor of Diagnostic Medicine, Dell Medical School, UT Austin

Dr. Jim Leake received his medical degree at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, then completed an internship in internal medicine at UT Dell Medical School, followed by residencies in diagnostic radiology at UT Southwestern Medical School and nuclear medicine at the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine/Harvard Medical School.

As Assistant Professor of Diagnostics Medicine at Dell Medical School, Dr. Leake trains and educates new classes of physicians and mentors upcoming radiologists in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Leake is double-boarded in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Originally from Austin, he enjoys live music, running, and travel.

CARL ODOM, MD, MS

Dr. Carl Odom received his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, then completed an internship in the Department of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University, followed by residencies in nuclear medicine at The Ohio State University and diagnostic radiology at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA.

Dr. Odom is a graduate of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Future Leaders Academy and has served on the board of that institution as well as on the board of the American College of Nuclear Medicine. As an affiliate faculty member in the Diagnostic Medicine Program at Dell Medical School, he trains and educates new classes of physicians and mentors upcoming radiologists in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program.

Dr. Odom is passionate about molecular radiology and the continual breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatment. Experiencing the optimism patients feel about theranostic procedures is especially gratifying. Dr. Odom is motivated to give patients every chance possible to prolong their lives and ease their symptoms with these innovative treatments.

Stanislav Spiridonov, MD of ARA Theranostics.

STANISLAV SPIRIDONOV, MD

Dr. Stanislav “Stan” Spiridonov received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School, then completed an internship at Maine Medical Center in Portland, followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at the same institution. He then completed a nuclear medicine fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Spiridonov was appointed Chief Resident at Maine Medical Center from June 2015 to June 2016. He has appeared on CBS/KEYE’s “We Are Austin” as a knowledge expert, discussing prostate cancer treatment using prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) at the ARA Theranostics Center. He was also recognized as one of Austin Monthly magazine’s “Austin’s Top Doctors” in 2023.

As Assistant Professor of Diagnostics Medicine at Dell Medical School, Dr. Spiridonov trains and educates new classes of physicians and mentors upcoming radiologists in the Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. Additionally, Dr. Spiridonov serves as Chair of the ARA Outpatient Imaging Committee.

Dr. Spiridonov is double-boarded in nuclear medicine by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology.  Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, live music, mountain biking, skiing and other adventure sports. He is also fluent in Russian.
